This bar is handcrafted from our signature 72% single estate dark chocolate, made at origin for us by our direct trade partners Martinetti Cocoa in Ecuador from fine heritage Arriba cocoa beans grown on Hacienda Zoilita in the Los Rios region — which we then blend with natural orange oil for a deliciously rich yet gently citrusy flavor experience.

This deliciously moreish, sustainable dark chocolate is exclusive to Chococo, and Martinetti ships it directly to us by sea — we love that 100% traceability from the farm to us.

Martinetti Cocoa is a small family-owned chocolate company based in Quevedo, in the heart of Ecuador's cocoa-growing region. They have been in business for 50 years and have strong relationships with local cocoa farmers, buying beans directly from their farms. Our 72% chocolate is made with beans from just one farm — Hacienda Zoilita, a professionally run family farm of 200 hectares (about 500 acres).

This Direct Trade chocolate is made from fine single origin Arriba cocoa beans grown in the fertile, tropical climate of the Los Rios province, where Martinetti is based. The chocolate adds value to the local economy: it is produced from tree to chocolate by Martinetti in its country of origin, packed in strong paper sacks, and shipped by sea for us to work with — no middlemen at any point in our supply chain!

This bar is packaged 100% plastic-free, in a recyclable paper pouch inside a recyclable cardboard box.
